This Shipping & Delivery Policy applies to orders placed through metricop.com and to quotations, proforma invoices and sales confirmations issued by Surveying Equipment Metricop LLC (“Metricop”, “we”, “us” or “our”), unless another selling entity or different shipping terms are expressly identified in the applicable quotation or invoice.

If a quotation, proforma invoice or written sales confirmation contains shipping terms that differ from this Policy, the terms in that document will control. Nothing in this Policy limits any mandatory rights available to a Consumer under applicable law.

1. Order acknowledgement and acceptance

An automated order confirmation only confirms that we have received the order. It does not constitute final acceptance of the order or confirmation of product availability.

An order is accepted when Metricop sends a written order acceptance or dispatch confirmation, or otherwise expressly confirms acceptance in writing.

Before acceptance, we may verify:

  • product availability;

  • price and specification accuracy;

  • payment status;

  • shipping address;

  • export or import restrictions;

  • compatibility or configuration information; and

  • suspected fraud or payment risk.

If we cannot accept an order, any payment already received will be returned using the original payment method.

2. Availability and shipping origin

Products may be dispatched from Metricop stock, a logistics partner, an authorised supplier or a manufacturer warehouse. The shipping country may therefore differ from Metricop’s registered business address.

Orders containing several products may be shipped in separate packages and may arrive on different dates.

Stock information is based on the information reasonably available when the order is placed and may change before final order acceptance. Products described as available, in stock or supplier stock are subject to final verification.

3. Processing and delivery estimates

Any processing, dispatch, transit or delivery time displayed on the website, quotation, invoice, order confirmation or tracking page is a good-faith estimate only, unless Metricop expressly confirms a guaranteed date in writing.

Where the website states “Estimated delivery: 4–7 business days,” this means the typical estimated delivery period for eligible in-stock orders after payment and order verification. It is not a guaranteed arrival date.

Delivery estimates may be affected by:

  • stock or supplier availability;

  • technical configuration or testing;

  • calibration or certification;

  • payment verification;

  • customer response time;

  • export documentation;

  • destination and remote-area service;

  • carrier capacity;

  • customs clearance;

  • import inspections;

  • public holidays, weather or other events outside our reasonable control.

Business days exclude weekends and public holidays applicable at the dispatch location, carrier hubs or destination.

If delivery by a particular date is essential, the Buyer must contact Metricop before placing or paying for the order. A requested date, project deadline or “required delivery” field does not become binding unless Metricop expressly accepts it in writing as a guaranteed delivery date.

If a material delay occurs, we will provide an updated estimate and any cancellation or refund options required by applicable law.

4. Shipping methods and charges

Shipping methods and charges depend on the product, destination, value, dimensions and required service.

Where “free shipping” or “shipping included” is stated, it covers only the standard transportation service expressly included in the order. Unless stated otherwise, it does not include:

  • customs duties, import VAT or local taxes;

  • brokerage or clearance fees;

  • remote-area or address-correction surcharges;

  • storage, demurrage or redelivery charges;

  • special permits or inspections;

  • return transportation; or

  • cargo insurance exceeding the carrier’s standard liability.

If an additional shipping charge becomes necessary before dispatch, we will request the Buyer’s approval. The order will not be dispatched with an unapproved material additional charge.

5. Customs, duties and importer responsibilities

Unless an order is expressly confirmed as DDP – Delivered Duty Paid, the recipient is responsible for customs clearance, import duties, VAT, taxes, brokerage charges and other destination-country costs.

The recipient may be treated as the importer of record and is responsible for providing accurate identification, tax numbers, permits and other information requested by customs authorities or the carrier.

Customs clearance time is outside Metricop’s direct control and is not included in any estimated delivery period unless expressly stated.

Metricop will not declare an incorrect value, description or country of origin or identify commercial goods as gifts.

6. Shipping addresses and delivery attempts

The Buyer is responsible for providing a complete and accurate delivery address, contact person, telephone number and any required customs information.

A request to change the address after order acceptance may result in delay, additional charges or cancellation if the shipment can no longer be redirected safely.

Delivery may require a signature. Delivery to the address, reception desk, mailroom, site office or person reasonably appearing authorised to receive the shipment will normally constitute delivery.

7. Risk of loss

For Consumers, risk of loss remains with Metricop until the Consumer or a person designated by the Consumer takes physical possession of the goods, where required by applicable law.

For Business Customers, the Incoterm stated in the quotation or invoice controls. If no different Incoterm is stated and Metricop arranges and prepays transportation, the order is shipped CPT Buyer’s delivery address, Incoterms® 2020. Risk passes to the Business Customer when the goods are handed to the first carrier, even though Metricop pays transportation to the stated destination.

Unless expressly included, cargo insurance beyond the carrier’s standard liability is not provided. Business Customers may request additional cargo insurance before order acceptance.

8. Inspection and transit damage

The recipient should inspect the shipment immediately upon delivery.

Visible external damage, missing packages or suspected tampering should be noted on the carrier’s delivery record. Photographs of the package, labels, contents and serial numbers should be taken before packaging is discarded.

Business Customers must notify Metricop of visible shipping damage, shortages or an incorrect product within five business days after delivery. Notification should include:

  • order or invoice number;

  • tracking number;

  • description of the issue;

  • photographs or video;

  • product and package labels; and

  • applicable serial numbers.

Failure to notify us promptly may prevent recovery from the carrier and may affect a Business Customer’s claim to the extent permitted by law. This does not limit non-waivable Consumer rights.

The recipient must retain all original packaging until Metricop confirms that it may be discarded.

9. Delayed, lost or misrouted shipments

Tracking information and carrier estimates are not guarantees.

If a shipment appears lost or materially delayed, please contact Metricop so that we can open a carrier investigation. Carrier investigations may require information or documents from the recipient.

For Business Orders where risk has already passed to the Buyer, Metricop’s assistance with a carrier claim does not mean that Metricop has reassumed the risk of loss.

10. Refused and undeliverable shipments

A Business Customer’s refusal to accept a conforming shipment, failure to provide customs information or failure to pay import charges does not constitute an authorised cancellation.

Actual return freight, storage, customs, brokerage, redelivery and other non-recoverable costs may be deducted from any amount otherwise refundable to a Business Customer.

Consumer rights regarding refused or undelivered shipments remain subject to applicable mandatory law.

11. Events outside our reasonable control

Metricop is not responsible for delays caused by events outside its reasonable control, including carrier disruption, customs action, export restriction, government order, labour dispute, natural disaster, severe weather, war, civil disturbance, epidemic, cyber incident, supplier interruption or infrastructure failure.

For Business Customers, Metricop is not liable for project delay, downtime, lost profit, substitute-equipment costs or other indirect or consequential loss resulting from a delivery delay, except where liability cannot lawfully be excluded.
